The Doorways program provides person centred care to community members experiencing financial or other forms of hardship through the provision of financial and material emergency relief. Case management is provided at some of the Doorways sites to engage people through early intervention as well as address long term disadvantage to break the cycle of poverty and alleviate financial hardship. Our practitioners are strength based and trauma informed in their practice to build individual capacity, resilience and wellbeing.

We have an exciting opportunity for a values-driven and proactive Regional Manager, reporting to the QLD Doorways State Manager at Townsville. This position is instrumental in leading the delivery of all Doorways services within a region, including operational management of all services, ensuring national practice standards are embedded, and demonstrates and promotes a collaborative approach with other TSA expressions and external partners and stakeholders.

This is a permanent full-time position with location flexible between North and Central Queensland. The Regional Manager is a member of the relevant State Doorways Leadership team and will contribute to national practice, plans and frameworks.

You will successfully

  • Build and maintain collaborative approaches and healthy relationships with Area Officers, Corps Officers and other TSA services within the region, to ensure an integrated approach to delivering Doorways
  • Actively support the local mission delivery model in the region, participate in local area leadership teams and represent Doorways in local mission planning
  • Develop Shared Mission Agreements, in consultation with relevant Corps Officers and Area Officers, to enable effective implementation of Doorways.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure it meets national practice standards, contractual and accreditation requirements
  • Monitor the quality of casework practice within the region to ensure it meets practice standards, working in conjunction with the Practice Specialists
  • Implement and embed national frameworks and practice within the region for all employees and volunteers
  • Lead and manage the performance of Doorways Workers
  • Build and maintain relationships and contracts with external service providers, partners, local government and community stakeholders to maximise support and pathways for community members including ER brokerage sites
  • Support with the management of volunteers
  • Foster and lead a high-performance culture which is compliant, competent and respects TSA values.

The Salvation Army is subject to public health orders. You may be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements.

You will have

  • Relevant Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology or other Community/Human Services discipline
  • Extensive relevant experience in the community services sector, including in managing teams.
  • Experience working with people who experience trauma and/or exhibit multiple/complex service needs and/or are chronically disadvantaged
  • A current QLD Drivers Licence
  • Valid QLD Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
