THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Emergency Relief Worker to deliver a holistic and integrated range of support services.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high quality, effective, and responsive service to relieve those in crisis
  • Providing information, mediation, referral and advocacy to those who access the service
  • Working alongside the program volunteers to assist with the service delivery
  • Contribute as an active and supportive member of the Kalgoorlie Doorways team
  • Regularly maintain rooms and facilities to minimise accidents and incidents promoting a welcome, safe and support environment
  • Equipment is regularly checked and maintained.

Reporting to the Doorways Team Leader this position is located at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Corps.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent part time position, 19 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 3.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • Minimum Certificate 3 in community services with relevant experience
  • Demonstrated awareness of issues such as homelessness, poverty, mental health, cultural issues, domestic violence, substance abuse experienced by persons experiencing financial hardship or crisis
  • Knowledge with client advocacy and working in partnership with others.
  • A current and valid WA Employee Working with Children Check
  • A current WA Drivers Licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
