The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.

The Salvation Army Graceville and Karratha Centres provide short term crisis accommodation for women with or without children who are escaping Family & Domestic Violence and/or homelessness.

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Program Manager, who will oversee frontline staff out of Graceville and Karratha Women's Refuge as well as Lincoln Street and Karratha Outreach Services. You will support approximately 10 direct staff between Graceville, Karratha Refuge and Lincoln Street Outreach, as well as a total of 27-30 staff as senior manager.

You will successfully

  • Foster effective and high delivery of services at Karratha and Graceville Women's Refuges as well as Lincoln Street and Karratha Outreach services
  • Oversee operational refuge management including a range of internal practices, policies and guidelines, incl. case management and outreach services
  • Provide high level professional leadership to the workforce and observe best practice management standards
  • Carry out programmatic management including oversight of quality and compliance to ensure accreditation standards are met
  • Demonstrate the competencies to deliver an effective high quality family violence refuge service with ability to demonstrate that interventions make a difference to the lives of women and children post family violence
  • Provide advocacy to support the needs of people seeking services from The Salvation Army and best practice service delivery; including sourcing and attracting grants and tenders to enhance service provision
  • Build and maintain relationships with Departmental representatives and community sector partnerships ensuring that where appropriate formal agreements exist and that representation at meetings is robust and cooperative

This is a full time permanent position, based in Perth, with some intratate travel required.

You will have

  • Degree qualifications in social work, welfare, community development, or another relevant discipline
  • 10+ years relevant experience, including management experience
  • Experience with trauma informed care approach with women and children in refuge settings
  • Experience in active membership of community, sector and government bodies within the homelessness sector
  • Management experience in social and community service programs including Family Violence and/ or Homelessness
  • Current Working with Children Clearance
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current Driver's License
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
