The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Specialist Family Violence Practitioner. This position will provide outreach case management support to women and women with children who have experienced and/ or are currently experiencing family violence. The role will be in instrumental in delivering high quality, safe and effective family violence and child well-being responses to those seeking support, safety, and recovery.

You will successfully

  • Deliver assessment and crisis response
  • Work with service users from a feminist perspective, aiming to empower and increase the safety of women and children
  • Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care
  • Ongoing assessment is made of the client's issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit
  • Individual case plans are developed in collaboration with clients

This is a permanent full-time position based at our Melton Family Violence Service.

You will have

  • A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent formal learning
  • Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable
  • Experience in specialist family violence and/ or child wellbeing work is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated case management experience and skills
  • Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision required
  • Advance computer skills including experience in data and record management
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia

MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
