The Orange Door (Support and Safety Hubs) is a new way for women, children and young people experiencing family violence and families in need of support with the care, wellbeing and development of children and young people, to access the services they need to be safe and supported.

The Family Violence services and programs operate in a manner that is consistent with the aims, objectives and values of The Salvation Army and the guidelines provided by Department of Health and Human Services, Family Safety Victoria, Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria and No to Violence.

The Support and Safety Hub provides support and assistance to victim survivors of Family Violence and keeping male perpetrators of family violence in view and making them accountable for their actions. The Support and Safety Hub also assists families who need extra support with the care of children.

THE ROLE

The primary purpose of this position is to complete Screening, Identification and Triage (SIT) responsibilities for the Support and Safety Hub and Perpetrator response services.

This position is primarily based in Morwell, location may vary between Morwell, Leongatha, Wonthaggi and Warragul. Training location may vary from employment location.

Initial operating hours for the Support and Safety Hub will be 9.00 - 5.00 pm Mon - Fri with the likelihood of service hours being made flexible and requests for overtime.

Responsibilities include:

• Screening, Identification and Triage
• Perpetrator Services
• Service Delivery
• Maintain requirements for the release of information between services and keep accurate records as required by the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme, and Children's Information Sharing Scheme
• Engage with internal and external partners as required and support in the development and maintenance of effective working relationships

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full time position, 38 hours per week fixed term for 12 months.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 6.

ABOUT YOU

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Social work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist and/or related behavioural sciences at degree level (highly desirable) or relevant education and experience in a social service environment. Advance literacy and computer skills
• Working with Children Check
• A current Victorian Drivers Licence is required
• Proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia is required

Sector knowledge:

Understanding of the MARAM Framework, The DV Vic Code of Conduct for Specialist Family Violence Services for Victim Survivors (the Code), Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme, Children's Information Sharing Scheme Knowledge of the Department of Human Services funded program requirements under the Human Service Standards and Child Safe Standards Knowledge of general models of intervention in Social Work.

Family and Domestic Violence:

Understanding of the human rights, social justice and intersectional feminist frameworks of Family Violence. Understanding of the strengths-based approach to case management. Expertise/experience in working with victim survivors with multiple vulnerabilities and trauma histories.

Client Assessment:

Uses appropriate information, tools and techniques to gather and analyse information; Identifies and prioritises appropriate actions including referral.
