The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person-centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support all cohorts in case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Support Services Coordinator to lead the provision of high quality service delivery to the Support Services teams which incorporates Tenancy Plus, Accommodations Options for Families and Support for Families at Risk. This position reports to the Manager Homelessness - Western Metro, which brings together a variety of homelessness response services operating in the western metro region of Melbourne, Victoria.

You will successfully

  • Lead an effective and high functioning team of case managers to deliver high quality and specialist support services to people who have experienced homelessness
  • Support the team to provide a range of service delivery to household who have experienced homelessness including the provision of information, assessment and safety planning, facilitated referral, interim responses, case management, and exit planning
  • Provide specialist advice, secondary consultation and facilitated referrals across all programs within the Western Metro suite of services and programs
  • Document and articulate service models / standards of practice and service performance targets to staff
  • Ensure service delivery targets are achieved, and funding body requirements are met
  • Allocate caseloads effectively and monitor to ensure effective service delivery and best outcomes for clients
  • Monitor client progress and outcomes and provide assistance and specialist expertise to staff to resolve complex case management issues
  • Build and maintain positive collaborative relationships within The Salvation Army (TSA) and partner organisations, and other agencies and service sectors

You will have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related community service field
  • Experienced with working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities
  • Experience in managing staff and providing supervision
  • Demonstrates knowledge of homelessness including context, causes, issues, philosophies and legislation
  • Understands and applies homelessness models, approaches, theories and practices when dealing with clients
  • Ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check
  • A current and valid Victorian Drivers licence
  • A willingness to undergo a National Police Check

The Salvation Army is subject to public health orders. You may be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements.
