Northern Victoria Alcohol and Other Drug Services offer:

  • AOD Intake & Assessment
  • Bridging and Brief intervention support
  • AOD Counselling
  • Care & Recovery Co-ordination
  • 6 week Residential Rehabilitation Program
  • Therapeutic Day Rehabilitation Program

We support individuals 16 years and over who reside anywhere within the Loddon Mallee region.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven and motivated Team Leader to lead an effective and high functioning team of staff to deliver services to marginalised personas who are experiencing difficulties with alcohol and/or other drug use.

The position is based in Swan Hill with Travel required to Mildura and Bendigo and is responsible for:

  • A team of 3 AOD practitioners based in Swan Hill and Mildura, who provide counselling, care and recovery case management services for client 16 years and over.
  • A Family Reunification Practitioner, who provides intensive case management support for families across the Mallee Region
  • A team of 3 part time roles in Swan Hill including an Emergency relief Practitioner, a Doorways case manager and Reception / admin support

The doorways Program is delivered from Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 12:00pm.

The non-residential services are delivered from Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, with some after-hours sessions based on demand. The service sees over 500 clients per annum.

The AOD Service is delivered by utilising co-location arrangements across the Mallee catchment area.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the team providing material aid, case management support and referrals of clients who present with financial hardship and who have difficulty in obtaining and sustaining employment
  • Practitioners are supported to provide a consistent Community Integrated model through a client focused service.
  • Caseloads are effectively allocated and monitored to ensure effective service delivery and best outcomes for clients.
  • Service performance targets are monitored and risks of not meeting targets are identified
  • Reflective practices are implemented for the team and contribute to improved outcomes for clients.

Reporting to the Alcohol and Other Drugs Services Manager, Loddon Mallee this position is located in Bendigo.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full time position, 38 hours per week fixed term for 12 months.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 6.

ABOUT YOU

  • A minimum diploma level qualification in Community Services, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or relevant field.
  • Relevant experience in a social service environment, preferably AOD
  • Empowers, motivates, and inspires others to achieve or exceed performance expectations.
  • Fosters and monitors a culture of affirmation for good performance
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
