The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

In 2020, The South Australian Housing Authority (SHA) announced significant reforms within the homelessness sector. In response to these reforms, the Toward Home Alliance was formed comprising of Aboriginal Community Services, Baptist Care SA, Lutheran Care, Mission Australia, Sonder and The Salvation Army.

Toward Home Alliance in collaboration with the South Australian Housing Authority (SAHA) has identified a need for transformational change in the way services support people affected by homelessness and have adopted an Alliance model to deliver a 'whole system' approach to achieving the objective of ending homelessness and recognises that every position within the Toward Home Alliance has a vital role to play in eliminating homelessness.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Program Manager to provide management and coordination in the delivery of the Toward Home service and facility, ensuring the program complies with relevant legislation funding arrangements and targets; quality service provision and TSA accreditation processes and audit cycles.

The Program Manager will act as the central point of contact for Toward Home Alliance meetings, and governance, and will provide support to ensure people management, client centred holistic support, and compliance.

Toward Home Program operates within the National Homelessness Stream of The Salvation Army (TSA) and is situated across multiple sites within the Southern Region of South Australia. Reporting to the Toward Home Team Leader, This role will be required to assist at alternative sites within the Toward Home Alliance as directed.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is full time position, 38 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 7.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, or related field, and / or management is desirable, and relevant experience in a social service environment
  • Experience supervising staff and managing a budget
  • Understanding of the SA Homelessness & Housing service system, including legislative requirements
  • Experience in working with a range of stakeholders including representatives in Government Departments
  • Flexibility with work hours to meet the operational requirements of the position will be required
  • Willingness to travel to multiple sites as well as to centres within the Toward Home Alliance, as well as periodic interstate travel
  • ​A current SA Drivers Licence
  • Valid SA Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
