The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a values driven and proactive Youth Worker to provide Youth Support and Advocacy Services to vulnerable young people who are at risk or have disengaged from family, education and training pathways and /or who could be homelessness, or have a tenancy related issues. You will provide one on one and group training in Social and Emotional areas including anger awareness, tenancy skills, resilience in various locations

This is a part time position, 3 days a week located at Forest Lake and surrounding suburbs.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 4.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years experience delivering training to youth people
  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
  • QLD Child Protection reporting processes
  • Case management experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • QLD Drivers License
  • Diploma in Community Services /Equivalent or 3 years of industry experience
  • Working with Children (QLD Blue Card)
  • Cert IV in training and assessment or equivalent industry experience in training
