Twenty10 is Australia's largest and longest running LGBTIQA+ youth support organisation based at the Inner West Pride Centre in Newtown, Sydney (Gadigal and Wangal Land). We provide a broad range of specialised services for LGBTIQA+ people and people of diverse genders, sexualities and intersex status including; housing, mental health, counselling and social supports for young people, counselling and social support services to adults, and inclusivity training and consultation for organisations and service providers across most sectors.

We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our dynamic team to effectively, efficiently and proactively manage the organisation's finance and accounts in an accurate, compliant and timely manner. You will have experience in payroll management, including superannuation and salary packaging; ATO returns and payments; monthly reconciliations and reporting; annual auditing processes; budget tracking and an understanding of grants and managing payments in advance.

The Finance Manager is a permanent part-time position, working a 45 hour fortnight, paid as per SCHADS Level 5 P1. The position is based in Newtown, with some hybrid working optional.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of the accounting and finance function.
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the Organisation, such as payroll, banking reconciliations, invoicing, and other transactions.
  • End to end payroll administration, management and reporting ensuring compliance with the Award and/or legislative requirements.
  • Undertake all Accounts Receivable and Payable duties.
  • Complete all ATO and superannuation returns and payments.
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government authorities and legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate with the auditor and CEO to facilitate the completion of the annual audit.
  • Support the development of the budget and provide ongoing budget monitoring, financial reporting, and analysis throughout the year.
  • Prepare financial acquittals and provide detailed reporting on grant expenditures.
  • Monitor and manage grants and advance payments in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Issue invoices, process purchase orders, and generate receipts for donations.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications and Prerequisites

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or commerce.
  2. Certified Practicing Accountant accreditation.
  3. Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance and National Police Check Certificate upon commencement.

Experience Required

  1. 3 years’ previous relevant finance management experience, or equivalent.
  2. Extensive knowledge of Acts, Regulations and Professional Practices relating to financial accounting and management.
  3. Strong knowledge of Xero accounting software.
