The United Firefighters Union ACT Branch is seeking a multi skilled and highly motivated appointee for this critical role which will assist the Secretary in every area of the Union’s activity.

The position is largely office based, with some capacity to work from home. The primary focus of the role is to operate as an “anchor” to the membership and employer engagement activity of the Secretary.

This is a critical role that ensures the effective, operations of the UFU ACT Branch. We are a union that sets high standards in advancing the interests of our members. Duties may vary depending on the operational needs of the UFU ACT Branch but will not vary outside reasonable expectations.

You might not have all the skills and experience that we are after. Nobody is perfect but please address your strong points and weaker points in your application and it might be that we can adjust the role around you. The key thing is that between this role and the Secretary role everything gets done.

Conditions

  • The position is offered at 0.8 time (four days per week equivalent). These hours can be arranged flexibly over four or five days by agreement.
  • Commencing salary range is pro-rata of $94 – $100,000, plus superannuation and holiday leave loading.
  • This position is a new position, based on a review of our operations. The position is an ongoing position, with appointment subject to a probation period of 6 months.
  • Work hours will include some after-hours work.
