headspace Penrith, Mount Druitt and Parramatta deliver the headspace Youth Early Psychosis Program. The headspace program offers an “open door”, easily accessible, early intervention service for young people wishing to obtain support for mental health or substance use issues.

The headspace Early Psychosis program is a specialist service which focuses on providing comprehensive services to support young people who are at risk of developing a psychotic illness, or those who have experienced a first episode of psychosis.

  • Full-time position with headspace Mount Druitt + some Work from Home
  • $37.35 per hour + Super + Generous salary packaging benefit up to $18,550
  • Supportive multi-disciplinary team with ongoing training 

Role Overview:

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Junior Clinician, who is not yet experienced enough to hold a high case load of young people with complex mental health concerns, including florid symptoms of psychosis, to supplement and support existing clinicians in their roles as needed.

This transitional role will initially begin with case management duties that include but are not limited to, assisting with ongoing referrals and graduations from the program, liaising with external stakeholders, supporting the TL with file requests/subpoenas and acting as a second in clinical appointments. With the support of the TL, we aim to help upskill and develop your clinical skills and transition over into a clinician role with the ability to hold your own caseload.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • Completed or ongoing tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as Psychology, Social Work, Registered Nursing or Occupational Therapy).
  • Membership with a respective professional body (such as AHPRA), or eligibility for membership with AASW.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License.

Key Selection Criteria

  • As clinician, this role is responsible for working as part of multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive, evidence-based clinical case management, assessment and psychological interventions to clients with mental illness.
  • The role requires some degree of clinician experience with relevant field.
  • Ability to provide high quality assessment and evidence based psychological interventions
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
