This is a full-time role until 30th June 2025 (with likely extension) that will be based at headspace, Katoomba.
headspace Katoomba, a community mental health program run by Uniting, aims to reduce the burden of disease in young people aged 12-25 years caused by mental health and related substance use disorders through early identification and effective, evidence-based intervention.
The Youth Access Team Clinician is responsible for facilitating integrated holistic health care, with the aim of improving outcomes for young people accessing headspace Katoomba. As one of the first contact points for young people at the centre, the Youth Access Clinician will need to build a positive rapport with a wide range of young people, as well as their family and friends.
The Youth access Team Clinician will conduct intake and assessment of young people presenting to the service, including complex risk assessments and action a plan to mitigate any identified risk. They will also co-ordinate care, ensure treatment goals are met and adjusting provisions to help the young person meet their identified needs and goals.
The Youth Access Team clinician will facilitate groups and workshops in the community and at schools.
The Youth Access Clinician will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, allied health clinicians, community engagement workers, and support staff. They will also work closely with local community and partner youth and health services to provide holistic and integrated care.
