About the opportunity

The Uniting Wahroonga Prep OSHC is licensed for 45 children during After School Care and Vacation Care. As a specialist in  Prep - Outside of School Hours Care and having a strong knowledge of the National Quality Standards, you will build a strong community culture in the centre and school, liaising with parents and developing staff.

Hours of operation are:

  • 7am - 9am Monday to Friday
  • 2:30pm- 6:00pm Monday to Friday
  • Vacation Care  service operates 8am-6pm

In this role, you will be required to work 38 hours per week, with time off allocated for administration tasks. 

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Children Services and/or OSHC Services
  • Approved child protection clearance
  • Valid First Aid Course
  • Valid Working With Children Check
  • Understanding of diversity and inclusive practice
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to working within the values of Uniting Children, Young People and Families.

What do I need to succeed?

  • Approved asthma emergency and anaphylaxis training
  • Experience and knowledge of the National Quality Standard – My Time Our Place framework.
  • Able to demonstrate a genuine love of working with children or caring for children
  • Keen eye for identifying and mitigating risks
  • Previous experience in leadership role and mentoring colleagues
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
