About the role

This is a full time (35 hours / week) fixed-term opportunity until February 2023

Foyer Central is located in the heart of Sydney and offers 53 innovative one of a kind apartment style accommodation for young people with a lived experience of out of home care.

Foyer Central is a bold social impact evidence-based program opening doors for young people aged 18-22 to engage in education, training and employment opportunities in a supported program.

Using an Advantaged Thinking approach, the program will provide young people the opportunity to create a culture of ownership, inclusivity, creativity, respect and learning in a connected and vibrant community.

As the Education/ Employment Coordinator you will form an integral part of the Senior Leadership team and will be responsible for education programming and program fidelity to the model of practice that aims for education and employment attainment.

In this 12 month maternity leave position you will deliver structured and unstructured learning opportunities for the students, including mentoring, creative arts, recreational activities and independent living skills.

About you

As the Education / Employment Coordinator you will form an integral part of the Senior Leadership team and will be responsible for education programming and program fidelity to the model of practice that aims for education and employment attainment.

In this 12 month maternity leave position you will deliver structured and unstructured learning opportunities for the students, including mentoring, creative arts, recreational activities and independent living skills.

You will need to build and maintain networks with education, training and employers within the local area to identify opportunities for Foyer Central students.

While you work collaboratively with our service delivery partners including St George Community Housing and Department of Communities and Justice to deliver outcomes.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences and/or demonstrated relevant work experience with young people.
  • Passion for working with young people and a sound knowledge of the issues faced by young people leaving the care system.
  • Ability to initiate and develop positive connections with relevant agencies, programs and services in the local community.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence, WWCC and Police Check with the ability to work flexible hours.
