This is a permanent full-time opportunity working 35 hours/ week and will be based in Port Macquarie.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Caseworker to join our “Family Support Program”. This role is responsible for providing short term, culturally responsive early intervention case work to families with children aged 0 to 18 years living on the Mid North Coast.
As a Family Support Worker, you will work with children, youth, families and groups to provide information, support, advocacy and referrals, as well as facilitate the development and implementation of case plans, management of programs and workshops; and more. This role requires a passionate and sensitive professional to work collaboratively within our team to build parenting and family capacity. You need to have a sound understanding of child protection, assessment skills, strong communication and the ability to build positive working relationships.
This role is also responsible for the delivery of parenting programs in a group and individual setting, as well as the co-facilitation of playgroups including engaging with parents and children.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people are overrepresented in the child protection system. Appropriate cultural knowledge and understanding is important to effectively deliver this role. Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged
