About the Opportunity

This role is full time, permanent opportunity (35 hours per week). Based in Goonellabah.

The Premiers Youth Initiative (PYI) program supports young people transitioning from OOHC into independent living by implementing and facilitating their care plan with a focus on supporting the young persons autonomy.

As the Premiers Youth Initiative Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for the day to day operations of the program, reporting requirements and overall performance and leadership of a team of professional and dedicated caseworkers.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day to day operation of the PYI team to meet program requirements
  • Provide supervision, leadership and support to the PYI team and ensure quality casework practice aligns with evidence based tools and planning
  • Work closely with the Tenancy Manager to ensure good housing outcomes for PYI young people
  • Work with impacted families in the community to assess and identify needs and prioritise goals in line with the program
  • Proactively engage and develop community development and networking

What you need to succeed

  • Qualifications in Social Work or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years experience in your field of expertise
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in managing a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of the child protection framework
