  • This is a Closed Period Contract for a PPT Psychologist from January 2025 to October 2025 for 3 days per week for Uniting Annesley in Haberfield

What you’ll be doing

As a Psychologist / Clinician you will provide evidence- based clinical case management, assessment, and psychological interventions to clients in the community with mental illness.  You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, therapeutic mental health services to clients.

Your role may include:

  • Providing specialised mental health interventions, including individual and group therapy, that improve the health and wellbeing of residents, e.g.  experience less isolation, exhibit fewer behaviours
  • Ensure that appropriate psychological interventions are incorporated into treatment planning, provide 1:1 consultation and contribute when there is a need for direct work with the consultant psychologist, particularly for complex cases. 
  • Be involved in the development of Positive Behaviour Support plans and ensure the ongoing review of these plans. 
  • Provide evidence-based focused psychological and behavioural interventions
  • Perform functional assessments
  • Collaborate in shared care approaches, such as joint sessions with the referring Uniting team, case review discussions, and documentation/reports to share information and make recommendations
  • Conduct individual and/or group sessions to support individuals' mental health and wellbeing
  • Identify opportunities to promote our services internally in Uniting and work with stakeholders to bring good news stories and articles. 
  • The psychologist will regularly reviewing and benchmarking best practice to ensure interventions are effective and they will be involved in research to contribute to the ongoing improvements in mental health in age care. 

 Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll have Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and current membership to AHPRA
  • 3 years experience of clinical practice field within the mental health providing high quality assessment and evidence based psychological interventions
  • Ability to collaboratively plan and coordinate a comprehensive bio-psychosocial approach and interventions to meet the needs of clients.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of the larger team
  • Proficient in using computers and possesses strong technology skills. Able to use a variety of applications / systems and willingness to learn new systems / programs as required.  
  • Sound understanding
  • Current and unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence

Located in Haberfield NSW, Uniting Annesley is an accredited 88-bed specialist residential aged care home for men and women all who are living with mental illness and homelessness including those that have experienced financial hardship and/or are socially disadvantaged.
