Uniting is the lead agency for the newly established Blacktown Medicare Mental Health Centre. The Medicare Mental Health Centres provide a safe and welcoming place for anyone to access free, immediate, short and medium-term quality mental health care to anyone.

You will join a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified mental health professionals including Lived Experience Workers.

Role Overview:

The Senior Clinician role is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. This role includes the provision of comprehensive, evidence-based clinical care management, psychological and psychosocial interventions to individuals in the community with mental health illness.

Additionally, the Senior Clinician ensures compliance with relevant quality and safety standards, implementation of best practice, supports flow of referrals into the service and capacity, including working closely with the multidisciplinary team.  This position works closely with the Team Leader (Centre Manager) to guide clinical and support staff to adhere to the model of care and evidenced based practice.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications:

Approved tertiary qualifications Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or equivalent and relevant to the field of work, and provisional or full membership with AHPRA or an appropriate professional body.

Experience:

• Previous experience in providing primary mental health intervention, with conducting assessment and providing evidence-based treatment and case management.
• Three (3) years or more clinical experience in working with in the mental health field
• Lead and participate in regular meetings to support staff to deliver services to clients by mentoring and providing consultation and feedback.
• Excellent knowledge of and sensitivity to the mental health needs of individuals
• Experience contributing to clinical review processes and planning consumers within a recovery framework.
• Australian Drivers License
