Role Overview:

As a Senior Project Manager within the Capital Works team, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to the development of Uniting's strategic objectives. You will lead and manage a diverse portfolio of complex and large capital works projects, ensuring their successful delivery from inception to handover.

Your responsibilities will encompass project planning, budgeting, reporting, and coordination of key processes within the Capital Works team.

If you are an experienced project management professional with a strong background in construction, engineering, or property management, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full project life cycle for a range of complex capital works projects, with values ranging from $500k to $2M, while ensuring compliance with statutory approvals.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, including the Asset Management team, Portfolio Planning, Services Managers, Village Managers, Heads of Seniors Services, and Uniting executives.
  • Ensure project objectives are met, including project scope, procurement, cost control, program management, safety, quality control, risk management, and communication.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality project documentation.
  • Ensure that all project tasks and activities adhere to Uniting's policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Management team and Service/Village Manager for successful project commissioning.
  • Mentor and develop the skills of the project team.
  • Implement best practice project management processes across the organisation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualified in Construction, Engineering, Property, or Project Management.
  • Minimum of 8 years of project management experience (see experience).

Experience:

  • 8 or more years of industry exposure, including 5 or more years of experience supervising a small team of specialists.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisation, systematic approach, thoroughness, accuracy, and discipline.
  • Experience in leading teams.
  • Experience in the Construction and Project Management sector.
  • Detailed knowledge of legislation and regulation related to construction, buildings, and workplace health & safety.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated written, analytical, numeric, and oral presentation skills.

Even Better:

  • Post Graduate qualifications in construction or project management.
  • Proficient use of Dynamics 365.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Project program.
  • Aged care project delivery experience.
  • Live site project experience in the health, hospitality, retail, or aviation industries.
  • Early learning/community services project delivery experience.
  • Capital Asset Replacement project delivery experience.
