Youth Enhanced Support Service (YESS) of Uniting provides early intervention and wrap-around mental health services to young people with the aim of minimising the impact and distress caused by the experience of early onset severe or complex mental health conditions to young people and their families.  Locations are - Penrith, Oatlands, Smithfield and Chatswood  

  • Psychologist or Reg Nurse or Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Social Worker
  • Lead multi-disciplinary team in clinical community mental health for youth
  • $110K - $120K dep on experience +Super +Salary packaging benefits 

Role Overview:

The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program, and leading their team to deliver an efficient service to consumers. The Service Manager will contribute to the development of the strategy of the Directorate, in addition to the planning, budgeting and reporting of activities, coordinating key processes, and preparing regular management reports. 

You will be an integral member of the Uniting Recovery team through but not limited to the following:

  • Work with the senior leadership team to translate business/ strategic objectives into targets, plans and action steps that team members can effectively implement while ensuring changes support the viability, reputation and values of Uniting.
  • Contribute to, and monitor protocols, documentation, and operational manuals that support the governance and clinical functioning of the team and the model of care to ensure timely, high quality, and accessible services are provided.
  • Visibly lead in WHS and ensure that staff are properly trained and able to work in a safe manner, follow relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing assigned clinic operations.
  • Manage the day to day operations and activities of one or more clinical teams.
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and expertise to the team in the delivery of care. This includes sharing your knowledge, peer support, mentoring and participating in continuous conversations to manage team member performance, identify strengths and gaps in practice, set objectives and establish development plans.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or equivalent
    and relevant to the field of work.
  • Full membership with relevant professional association (such as AHPRA or AASW).
  • Current Australian Divers Licence.

Experience:

  • This is a supervisory role, typically requiring five (5) or more years’ experience, including three (3) or more years’ clinical leadership experience.
  • Proven expertise in the application of evidence based clinical practice in delivering mental health interventions, including case management and therapeutic care.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and manage a clinical team with the ability to exercise a high level of professional judgement when performing a range of complex critical tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to allocate resources, set priorities and ensure budgets are met within the services to deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Ability to develop and implement work plans to achieve service targets or contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders including GPs, LHD, community groups, consumers, families and carers.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act (2007).
  • Ability to maintain the relevant philosophy, standards and policies of the applicable models across various clinical programs to promote the recovery of consumers.
