About the role

This is a full time contract opportunity working Monday- Friday (9am – 5pm), and is in the Cumberland LGA.

This Support Worker is responsible for the provision of safe and appropriate accommodation and support services to residents through the delivery of high-quality care to service users.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Assist with intake and assessment where relevant to the role
  • Develop and monitor support plans/individual case plans, based on Services Practice Guidelines
  • Provide individual assistance for clients in line with support plans and identified goals

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work or other relevant field
  • A developed understanding of current issues in women’s homelessness, including current practices to domestic and family violence and child protection (highly desirable)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Knowledge of best-practice for Specialist Homelessness funded Services
  • The role is designated for a female under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act. You will be required to have a current drivers license, Working With Children Clearance and a National Police Check

Homelessness and Community Services (HCS) of Uniting provide outreach and crisis support and case management to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including those with tenancy issues. The services support people with the aim of breaking the cycle of homelessness through person centred support and coordination, referral, advocacy and development.
