about the role:

Due to current and projected growth, we currently have opportunities for permanent part time support worker positions based at our community respite cottage in Petersham.

Joining our Home and Community Care cottage respite team, you will be providing services that run from 7:30am-4:00pm, 3:45pm-11:00pm, & 10:45pm-07:45am Monday to Sunday. Our service operates 24/7 and we’re looking for reliable and qualified team members to assist us provide support at all hours of the day.

With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their community for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:

• Able to work unsupervised and able to problem solve
• Proactive in managing the day to day tasks within a home-like setting
• Responsive to client needs including social interaction, personal care and hygiene, and meal preparation
• Experience working with clients who have complex needs such as medications, living with dementia and reduced mobility.

 Qualifications and experience: 

• Holds certificate 3 or 4 in Aged Care or Individual Support or equivalent qualifications – essential 
• Hold TAFE course CHCSS00070 Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set (or equivalent) – essential
• At least one year experience working as a support worker
