We are looking for an experienced Executive Officer to join our small, high-performing team in Canberra. If you have expertise in governance, office administration and executive support and a passion for social justice, we would love to hear from you.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The purpose of this role is to provide executive officer functions within the National Office by supporting the National Director and ensuring efficient and effective governance, stakeholder engagement and office administration.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Previous experience as an Executive Officer including providing governance and secretariat support
• Experience in office administration and finance support
• Flexibility and capacity to work and consult with a range of people
• The ability to work under pressure, to take personal responsibility for prioritising and managing workload under limited supervision
• A commitment to support and promote UnitingCare Australia’s Mission, Mandate and values

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High and current proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook and SharePoint, as well as and virtual meeting technology including Zoom and Teams.
• Secretariat skills including minute taking and a good understanding of governance.
• Strong organisational skills and experience in office management procedures, administration and finance.
• Strong, professional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of excellent engagement and relationship building.
• Good oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of people.
• Ability to handle competing demands, problem solve, coordinate events and respond to deadlines.
• Ability to work as part of a small team, with minimal supervision and willingness to show initiative
• Strong work ethic, personal integrity, attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrated professional conduct, consistent with UnitingCare Australia’s values.
