UnitingSA are looking for passionate and experienced support workers to deliver personalised high quality care and support to older people living in their own homes and in the community. Must be reliable, capable of working autonomously, self-motivated, able to maintain professional boundaries, whilst possessing an optimistic outlook on life and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the community

Support Workers (Community Aged Care) provide a range of in-home and community support and services to older people residing in their own homes who receive a Home Care Package, Commonwealth Home Support Program and Transitional Care Program. Furthermore, UnitingSA Community Aged Care fosters opportunities for career development, professional development and growth, and is a values based organisation.

UnitingSA has multiple casual roles available, where shifts range between 6am-8pm daily. There are competative rates of pay as this role is covered under the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Industry Services Award.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver goal-orientated care and support
  • Help people to remain living in their home and supporting them to make independent choices
  • Observe and promptly report any changes in people’s health and wellbeing
  • Learn and apply skills for the use of equipment and mobility aids

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Community Services, Individual Support or equivalent (essential)
  • Experience in a caring role within a community setting
  • Current SA Drivers Licence & Reliable Care with Full Comprehensive Insurance
  • Current First Aid Certificate

Experience working with bicultural and bilingual clients will be highly regarded including language support (in particular, but not limited to: Russian, Greek, Spanish, Italian) as we have a diverse client base.

You will also demonstrate a positive and professional "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to work equally well as a member of a team or working alone.
