THE OPPORTUNITY

The role of the Housekeeping Assistant is to maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable and tidy environment for residents, with all requirements met in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinate effective housekeeping routines that deliver a high standard of cleaning services throughout the facility
  • Correctly operate and maintain all cleaning equipment in accordance with operating instructions
  • Ensure and maintain sufficient supplies are available for housekeeping cleaning services
  • Participate in reviews of routines and work practices for continuous improvement
  • Cleaning Services -In accordance with contemporary housekeeping practices, maintain high standards of hygiene and tidiness throughout the facility
  • Adhere strictly to Cleaning Regulations and other safety procedures at all times
  • Maintain high level standards of hygiene and tidiness in resident’s rooms and whole Aged Care Facility
  • Identify / report hazards and incidents
  • Effectively communicate with other Hotel Services staff through appropriate communication channels

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in in a similar role in a commercial cleaning environment (desirable)
  • Current National Police Check
  • Demonstrated experience working in an aged care setting or hotel environment (desirable)
  • Experience using commercial cleaning equipment
  • Sound Knowledge of safe work practices relating to cleaning services

You will also demonstrate a positive and professional "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to work equally well as a member of a team or working alone.
