Volunteer Coordinator (Paid role)

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Volunteer Coordinator is a newly created role who will be responsible for the coordination and development of the volunteer program and volunteers across the organisation. You will work closely with the executives, managers, site managers and external stakeholders to support the volunteer needs of the organisation.

The role is a part time position (.6 FTE)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop and coordinate UnitingSA Volunteer recognition event and associated materials in collaboration with UnitingSA services as required.
  • Maintain an approachable and respectful attitude when communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and develop orientation of volunteers at services and materials to ensure thorough induction.
  • Review and update Volunteer Handbook and other relevant documentation on an annual basis
  • Develop documentation, surveys, promotional and marketing initiatives for UnitingSA volunteers including managing relationships with employees.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Qualification in volunteer management social science (desirable)
  • Experience Managing Volunteers & understanding of national standards for Volunteers in Not for Profit Organisations
  • Current SA Driver’s license
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current Influenza Immunization

You will also demonstrate a positive and professional "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to work equally well as a member of a team or working alone.
