The Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute is a joint collaboration between the University of Wollongong and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District to foster, develop and grow health and medical research in the region. 

Reporting to the IHMRI Chief Operating Officer, this position coordinates and supports clinical trial and clinical research activities within the IHMRI Clinical Research and Trials Unit (CRTU). The role encompasses the review and development of clinical research capabilities, developing plans and coordinating governance and administration functions within the unit. Whilst maintaining smooth operations, there is also opportunity for future planning. The position will work with the IHMRI Clinical Director and the COO to shape directions for clinical research across IHMRI and design facilities and services needed for effective support.

Position Description

Note: This position will be filled under the usual employment arrangement with the University of Wollongong, however the incumbent will be seconded to work in the role within IHMRI Limited and will be accountable to the IHMRI Chief Executive Officer and Board. The secondment will be governed by an individual secondment agreement signed between the incumbent, the UOW and IHMRI Ltd.
