Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) Portfolio
This is an exciting role leading a new team of student mental health clinicians and student engagement specialists. As Manager Student Mental Health and Engagement, you will create a holistic approach to mental health, engagement and welfare services for our diverse student body, across our various campus locations. You will play a key role in the implementation of the the UOW Student Mental Health Model which has been developed as a gold standard model for the planning and implementation of strategies to address student mental health.
Teams in the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) portfolio develop and deliver services and strategies in collaboration with Faculties, professional units and students that enhance access to higher education, and facilitate students’ success, sense of belonging and connectedness and their employability. The intention of this work is to assist students to fully realise their potential and develop the levels of agency required to do so.
The PVC (Students) Student Engagement and Employability (SEE) unit provides sector leading initiatives that contribute to students’ career readiness and their development of cross-disciplinary skills (otherwise known as T-Shaped Graduates), in alignment with the Compass framework (e.g., emotional capital, social capital and leadership capabilities). Critically this unit facilitates institution-wide strategies to enhance student mental health and leads UOW’s response when students experience mental ill-health, or issues that impact upon their welfare.
You will have considerable management and leadership experience, working with mental health professionals in a relevant context. And, have qualifications eligible for, and hold current registration with, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and/or the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists that demonstrates competency in the provision of interventions to support people with their mental health and provide psychotherapeutic interventions for consumers with more serious mental disorders.
