The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Melbourne-based public policy team. You will apply your evaluation, research and critical analysis skills to advise diverse clients in the non-profit, private and public sectors, including state and federal governments. Our work spans diverse portfolios including education, Indigenous affairs, health, mental health, family violence, disability and housing.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to have significant impact on creating strong, more inclusive communities and support better outcomes for vulnerable people on a national scale.

You will be supported and coached by highly experienced Associate Directors and Directors, and you’ll help us grow our next generation of talent. There is also opportunity for this role to be engaged in on a part-time basis and to work flexibly from home (or elsewhere) on a regular basis.

You will:

  • Contribute to winning and delivering evaluation and research projects.
  • Design and execute research and evaluation methodologies and tools.
  • Help other team members grow and develop.
  • Apply your technical skills in gathering and analysing information to solve complex problems and develop advice that improves policy and program outcomes.
  • Conduct field research including interviews, focus groups and workshops
  • Manage budgets, timelines and teams for small to mid-sized projects.

About You

  • Passionate about shaping public policy that improves lives
  • A strong background in evaluation
  • A great writer, able to convey complex concepts and defensible analysis
  • Knowledgeable about (and curious to know more) about emerging public and social issues
  • Exceptional interpersonal and people skills
  • Experienced in project management.
  • A professional with 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience in a consulting environment is strongly preferred but not required.
