The United Workers Union is seeking a highly motivated Digital Campaigner. This role can be based in either Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide.

Candidates with a proven record in digital organising, and experience planning and executing data-driven digital strategies, will be highly regarded.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

For our members to win change we need to grow big, and we need to build an active, engaged membership which sees real, ongoing value in their Union. You’ll develop and execute end-to-end digital organising strategies to extend the reach of the Union and unlock the collective power of workers. You will:

  • Analyse data to assess results and help us understand more about our members and potential members
  • Develop implement and track supporter journeys through all stages of a membership lifecycle (trial, onboarding, activism)
  • Train and support leaders to grow and activate online communities
  • Support members and leaders to take action
  • Create visual and written content, and moderate social accounts
  • Review and optimise existing data workflows and campaign processes to drive greater operational efficiency
  • Learn new digital tools and use them to build worker power
  • Contribute to large scale donation and fundraising strategies

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

The skills required for this position are:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in digital organising in a union or not-for-profit setting
  • Experience executing digital campaigns using email marketing, petitions & other online action tools, Facebook Business Manager and Google Ads
  • Outstanding communication, messaging and rapport building skills
  • Experience in data management, data analytics and an understanding of how it can be used to build power
  • Strong content creation skills (writing, video & graphics)
  • Experience with digital marketing platforms, such as Zapier and Autopilot, and CRMs, such as NationBuilder and HubSpot
  • An ability to plan work and achieve outcomes independently
  • Creativity and flair for engaging hospitality workers
  • Passion and drive to help some of Australia’s most undervalued workers to stand up, unite and win change.

To perform this job, you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain:

  • A valid driver’s licence; and
  • Right of Entry Permits; and
  • Immunisation against COVID-19 or have a medical exemption

REMUNERATION

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, which will include:

  • Salary commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience;
  • 16% superannuation
  • 6 weeks annual leave plus 25% leave loading
