KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Executive Assistant provides high level support to the Public Sector Director/SA State Secretary, and as part of the national Public Sector Senior Leadership Group. The person must possess strong organisational and administration skills and will be a detail-oriented team player with great service delivery skills.

KEY DUTIES

The duties of this position are as follows:

  • Provide high level executive assistance to the Portfolio Director/SA State Secretary;
  • Screen telephone calls, emails, enquiries and requests;
  • Organise and maintain diaries and schedule meetings and appointments;
  • Devise and maintain office systems, including data management and filing;
  • Deal with incoming email, faxes and post, often corresponding on behalf of the Portfolio Director
  • Produce documents, reports and presentations;
  • Coordinate events, venues, logistics and catering for portfolio and state events
  • Develop good working relationship between the office of the Director and internal and external stakeholders;
  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality; and
  • Other duties as requested

Travel

  • Book domestic travel, accommodation and hire cars in line with UWU approval process

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

The skills required for this position are:

  • Strong communication, customer service skills
  • Advanced Microsoft skills in Office, Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and liaison skills
  • Ability to work flexible arrangements where required
  • Excellent Organisational skills;
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and can respond to conflicting deadlines;
  • Deliver a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; and
  • A commitment to the United Workers Union’s values

To perform this job, you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain:

  • Immunisation against COVID-19 or have a medical exemption

REMUNERATION

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, which will include:

  • Salary commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience;
  • 16% superannuation
  • 4 weeks annual leave plus 25% leave loading
