The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of it’s kind in Australia. About the Role:

VACCA’s Nugel (Belong) Program was the first of these “Aboriginal Children in Aboriginal Care” programs to be implemented in Victoria and thus has been at the forefront of development in transforming the business of protecting children so as to truly meet the best interests of Aboriginal children today and for generations to come.

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Administration Officer, will play a key role supporting the program staff in working with Aboriginal children and families, Government and sector partners to reduce the over representation of Aboriginal children in care, strive for better outcomes for children and to build capacity in families so that children can be transitioned home

What we require from you:

To best ensure that you will be best able to successfully complete the tasks associated with this role, you will require the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, culturally appropriate and respectful way with a range of stakeholders including staff, Government and agency partners and clients
  • A Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee
  • Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (minimum one dose, prior to commencement)
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and well developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Resilience, perseverance and self awareness skills
