  • Salary: $85,120 - $91,586, plus super and salary packaging is available

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

The role will complete a comprehensive carer assessment (Part B) and can offer up to 100 hours of support to assist the child/ren to settle into their new placement. This support includes regular home visits, care team participation, helping carers to navigate DFFH, DET and Centrelink, as well as having access to a small amount of brokerage.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Community/Human Services/ Social Work fields
  • Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
  • Ability to advocate for Aboriginal children and communicate in a clear, culturally appropriate, and respectful way with a range of stakeholders including staff and external parties.
  • Knowledge of Best Interest of the Child and Looking After Children framework
  • Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
