About the role

Family Violence program provides information, advice, assessment, intensive long-term casework and facilitated referral service to Aboriginal community living in the Gippsland community.

As a Men's Place Worker you will provide over the phone, in office and outreach support. The support will include an assessment and intake which identifies goals and has a plan developed to address these issues. The aim will be to provide Aboriginal men with a wraparound intensive service which provides information about their rights, what services are available and referrals to services.

About You

  • An ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner, with Aboriginal young people, their families and communities, to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in providing casework including assessment
  • Understanding & knowledge of local services across a range of sectors including child welfare, health, employment, education, housing and legal.
  • Ability to advocate on behalf of individuals and families
  • Current Victorian Driving Licence
  • A current Working With Children Check card for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current COVID-19 vaccinations
