To this end, we have completed the construction of a 100-bed residential aged care facility in Bell Park, Geelong.

A rewarding opportunity currently exists for an Education Officer to join our brand-new aged care home in Geelong .

The Role

This role is responsible for the development, delivery, management, and maintenance of VCACS ( Cro Care) training and competency assessments to assist all staff in providing safe, quality, consumer centred care and services, consistent with Aged Care Act and Accreditation Standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engage workplace managers, team leaders, participants and others in the delivery and implementation of workplace training and assessment.
  • Contribute to the orientation of new staff and assesses their initial mandatory competencies.
  • Plan, develop or use purchased training packages and deliver evidence-based training sessions according to the annual staff development program.
  • Use a range of training delivery methods according to the topics and adapt session delivery according to the learners’ needs.
  • Develop a training plan for staff who are assessed as not yet competent in consultation with the staff member and their manager.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of training outcomes and competency assessments.
  • Maintains accurate records of attendance and individual staff training and assessments.
  • Contributes to the annual review of the staff development program.

What you need:

  • Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or working towards same
  • Understanding of Aged Care Legislation and Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Understanding of ACFI assessment processes
  • Completed or working towards completing Infection Prevention Clinical Lead coarse ( ACICP)
  • Solid understanding of the Aged Care Accreditation process
  • A current police check or the ability to obtain.
  • Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia.
  • Evidence that you have had the 2020 Flu Vaccination or willingness to complete this before employment can be offered*

* The Australian Government has advised that all residential aged care staff and visiting workers should be vaccinated by 1 May 2020. This includes both current and future Cro Care employees.
