The Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) has an exciting opportunity for a Policy Advisor to join us and play a pivotal role in shaping disability policy and advocacy.
The Policy Advisor will join our high-impact policy team, reporting to the Manager, Advocacy and Engagement.
The position will identify policy goals and emerging issues, provide high quality public and social policy reports and advice, and work collaboratively with VCOSS staff, member organisations and partners to identify opportunities to strengthen policy development, advocacy, service delivery, capability, and partnership opportunities.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a policy or advocacy position – experience in, or knowledge of, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the Disability Royal Commission and/or other areas of disability policy and systems reform will be highly regarded. The position will also require high level written and analytical skills, a proven ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent.
Salary and conditions of employment are governed by the Victorian Council of Social Service Enterprise Agreement 2017 and VCOSS policies and procedures.
