Performance Assessor - Disability Worker Registration Board

Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria

About the board

The Disability Worker Registration Board (Board) and the Victorian Disability Worker Commissioner (Commissioner) are independent statutory bodies. The Board and Commissioner are supported by the Victorian Disability Worker Commission.

The Board is responsible for setting registration standards for disability workers and accreditation for approved programs of study. The Board registers disability workers who meet the required standards and responds to complaints and notifications about registered disability workers and students.

About the role

The Board is seeking expressions of interest from registered disability workers to join its list of approved performance assessors.

Performance assessors have a critical role in considering issues of whether the way in which a registered disability worker practices as a disability worker is, or may be, unsatisfactory. Approved panel members will participate on panels convened as required by the Board.

An approved Performance assessor will be appointed by the Board to conduct a specific performance assessment of a registered disability worker as required, on a case-by-case basis. The Performance assessor will be required to assess the knowledge, skill or judgement possessed, or care exercised, of the disability worker concerned in their practise as a registered disability worker.

The Board is seeking registered disability workers with an advanced range of skills, qualifications, and relevant experience to be appointed to the pool of approved Performance assessors.
