The Lead, Research and Impact reports directly to the Manager, Research and Impact, and will work across the organisation, and externally to support the delivery of our research strategy.

Using your holistic view of research management, you will be responsible for leading our teams in commissioning research and translating research knowledge into policy and practice.

You’ll be responsible for leading the development of training modules and sector development capacity building activities.

With a focus on linking people, stakeholders, and groups together, you’ll also help supervise and lead our fellows and fellowship program.

You will develop and maintain excellent relationships across the organisation, and with key external stakeholders, including staff in research institutions and other partner organisations.

You will possess impressive experience in research/project management, and you’ll easily demonstrate the ability to manage multiple and competing demands.

Unit: Policy, Strategy & Impact Group

Tenure: Full Time, Ongoing

Classification: VicHealth Grade D

Remuneration: $87,802 – 94,510 (plus superannuation and other benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Public Health, Health Promotion or related field, preferably at a post-graduate level
  • Impressive experience working in fields related to Public Health, or Health Promotion research or programs
  • Excellent understanding of research grant-making activities
  • Strong demonstrable research/project management experience
  • Renowned communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with coordination or delivery of courses or training programs
  • Ability to work with multiple systems, project monitoring and reporting.
