  • The position is located at our Footscray Park Campus. Note that the Inclusion and Engagement remain working from home currently until hybrid work arrangements are put in place.

About the role

In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to work as part of the Inclusion and Engagement team. The role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to bring their innovative and creative thinking and practices and apply them to create sustainable inclusion practice for VU students, staff, and our community.

About the person

You will be a dynamic, natural communicator with a remarkable creative ability to engage and influence others and bring them along a cultural change journey with you.

You will have a deep understanding and experience in implementing intersectional Diversity and Inclusion Programs, as well as practitioner knowledge of current trends to enhance and create engagement practices within the University.  

You will be a self-starter, known for your ability to solve problems, lead complex programs and be able to deliver project outcomes within set time frames.  

Your knowledge of operations, governance and decision-making processes and procedures in a University or large complex organisation setting, will be a great asset to have in this position.

Duties

Duties you may perform will include:

  • Coordinating the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative, sustainable, evidence-based training, publications and learning resources for both students and staff across the University, 
  • Engaging with the VU community to continue implement of the University’s Cultural Diversity Strategy.
  • Developing sustainable Engagement programs related Cultural and Linguistic Inclusion. 
  • Draft and produce reports, grant applications and other program documents; and polices. 
  • With an intersection lens, coordinate Diversity and Inclusion Networks of staff and students across the University and beyond.
