About the role

An opportunity has risen for a dynamic Executive Assistant / Project Officer to join Chambers at Victoria Legal Aid. You will provide comprehensive executive support to the Chief Counsel and high quality administrative assistance with projects and tasks across Chambers, including research and project work on law related issues.

In this role, you will be responsible for an extensive range of executive support duties including diary management, minute taking, preparation of written correspondence, maintaining accounts and budgets, coordinating travel arrangements and assisting with recruitment matters. The role will also provide project coordination across programs including assisting in research, management and reporting of projects, and being the primary point of contact to key stakeholders for research and litigation support. 

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated high level executive and administrative support including the ability to manage own work priorities, meet deadlines, manage budgets and coordinate projects.
  • Experience in researching and managing criminal, family or civil related issues and projects.
  • Proven ability to design and use reporting tools requiring advanced Excel and reporting skills.
  • Relevant knowledge or practical experience in the law and relevant court procedures.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy and discretion, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and the ability to liaise effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
