Victorian Mental Illness Awareness Council (VMIAC) is Victoria’s peak body for people who have a lived experience of mental health or emotional challenges. We are run by consumers, for consumers.

VMIAC is going through a period of growth and is wanting to build and extend relationships with consumers who’ve been excluded from and/or marginalised by and within Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing service system.
We have three new roles which are pivotal to ensuring VMIAC and the Department of Health hears from and utilises consumers' expertise it seeks to rebuild the mental health and wellbeing system following recommendations from the Royal Commission to Mental Health.
Applicants must have lived experience of mental health issue, emotional distress and/or of being a consumer of mental health services.

The Membership & Consumer Register Administration Coordinator position is:
The Membership & Consumer Register Administration Coordinator will work across the Membership team to administer and manage our database and our activities as our work expands. This role is central to the increased efficacy and VMIAC's commitment to ensure the mental health and wellbeing services system reaches, hears from and responds to communities historically under-represented in our work and marginalised within/ by the mental health system.
You will use your database management, administrational expertise and cultural knowledge/competencies and relationships with community to drive systemic change within the mental health and wellbeing system.
Reporting to the Membership Lead, the Coordinator will develop or improve our data management and administration systems to ensure:
1) VMIAC engages, hears from and responds to consumers via our membership and
2) Lived experience is part of policy and service development in the mental health sector.
This position is responsible for performing data management tasks associated with our Client Record Management (CRM) system. It includes data entry and extraction, reporting and analysis, managing database integrity, segmentation and systems development. The role also provides administrational support across the membership and consumer register.
