We invite you to bring your financial leadership skills and experience as CFO to Volunteering Gold Coast (VGC) to help shape our dynamic not-for-profit organisation.

VGC’s mission is to extend the impact of services and programs through a volunteering movement that empowers purposeful, connected and inclusive communities. This is undertaken through a number of service arms including Transport, Disability and Aged Care Services, and Community Volunteering.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will build a performance culture that manages our financial function, protects our assets and manages our financial risks.

The role exemplifies business partnering practices that enable our organisation to make the best decisions possible to achieve our purpose and exceed our financial goals. The CFO (and their team) are able to create value across the organisation through a deep understanding of our business activity, cost drivers and quality indicators.

requirements & responsibilities

This role will assess financial risks and opportunities whilst also managing payroll, ATO, superannuation, accounts receivable and payables, auditing budgets, insurance, workers compensation obligations and manage VGC’s finance team.

The CFO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the board through financial reporting and audits.

We are looking for an innovative finance leader, who has:

  • Proven experience in financial management/control
  • A CA (Chartered Accountant) ANZ accredited degree or qualification, or equivalent.
  • A high performance attitude
  • An analytical mind with a drive to improve process, systems and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with direct reports, board members and the VGC wider team
  • Leadership skills to build and maintain a high-performing, reliable Finance team
  • Executive experience in a large not for profit / charitable organisation would be highly advantageous
  • A current drivers licence
  • Working rights in Australia
