We are Victoria’s leading specialists in holistic palliative care for children with a life-limiting condition and their families.

Very Special Kids’ provides specialist care to over 850 families in Victoria, including counselling, sibling support, community activities, bereavement support, as well as respite and end-of-life care at Victoria’s only children’s hospice.

Every member of our team plays a vital role in the delivery of our adaptable, tailored and multidisciplinary approach to ensure sick children and young people have free access to the best quality of life and end-of-life care, and their families are fully supported from the time their child is diagnosed with a life-limiting condition, through to recovery or bereavement and beyond.

Reporting to the Fundraising & Events Manager, we currently have a rewarding opportunity for a Campaign & Events Lead to join us and coordinate our peer-to-peer events and grow participation and income.

Through your success you will help raise funds to support children with life-limiting conditions and their families, increase awareness of the Very Special Kids purpose and services, as well as increase consumer and stakeholder engagement.

To be a success, you will bring:

  • Degree Qualifications in Event Management, Marketing, or a related discipline preferable.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in successfully managing large scale fundraising campaigns and / or events or relevant equivalent project management experience.
  • Experience with:
    • running successful peer to peer campaigns.
    • working with online peer to peer platforms.
    • strategic planning, budgeting, and implementation of fundraising plans.
    • managing events suppliers and community corporate relationships.
    • developing, managing, and delivering large-scale, outdoor public events desirable.
    • managing and co-ordinating human resources preferably utilising large number of volunteers, across all age ranges.
    • a community or charity organisation preferable.
