Very Special Kids provides holistic care for Victorian families facing the potential death of a child with a life limiting condition. We provide; counselling and emotional support for the whole family, medically supported respite care and end of life care and long-term bereavement support. Our free-of-charge services help more than 850 families across Victoria, with ongoing support, from the child’s diagnosis all the way through to bereavement or the child joining adult services.

We currently have a rewarding opportunity in our dynamic fundraising team. Reporting into the General Manager Fundraising and Marketing, the role has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and growth of the trusts and foundations program at Very Special Kids, including funding from Philanthropic and Corporate foundations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering a strategic Trusts and Foundations program to achieve revenue targets
  • Manage and deliver strong relationships with existing Trusts / Foundations and PAFs
  • Actively seek out and build relationships with new philanthropic Trusts / Foundations, PAFs and wealth management advisors
  • Identify opportunities to secure multi-year strategic partnerships
  • Developing sophisticated funding applications, with supporting documentation and preparing budgets for each submission/program
  • Managing the successful delivery of partnership commitments within the agreed timeframes
  • Documenting Program Logic Models and Evaluation plans for existing and new programs to strengthen funding applications

You will have demonstrated success in building and maintaining income generating relationships in the not for profit sector coupled with depth of experience in developing effective proposals and grant submissions. Your networking and negotiation skills have helped you achieve strong financial results coupled with your authentic presentation and public speaking skills.
