The Opportunity

With the recent grant award from the Mental Health Commission we currently have a new and exciting opportunity for a talented, dynamic and courageous individual to support the delivery of the new Freedom X service by delivering LGBTIQA+ specific therapeutic group work. The Freedom X model offers a suite of service delivery offerings including the delivery of: peer-based drop-in sessions (Freedom Centre); LGBTIQA+ Wellbeing Workshops; peer support; community development; early intervention support (counselling); educational training sessions and creating an overall inclusive safe space for young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning (LGBTIQA+) or otherwise diverse in their sexuality or gender.

Reporting to the Coordinator – Freedom X, your role will be critical in providing therapeutic groupwork to LGBTIQA+ youth and their families.

About You

You are a gifted, skilled and passionate tertiary qualified professional with relevant membership with a professional body. Your strong understanding of the issues relating to young LGBTIQA+ people and experience in providing therapeutic groupwork to LGBTIQA+ youth and their families will be paramount. You possess a high level of self-awareness and are effective in critical reflection.
