The Western Australian Council of State School Organisations (WACSSO) is an incorporated association which serves as the peak representative body of parents of public school students, providing services and representation to approximately 650 Parents and Citizens Associations (P&Cs) across Western Australia.

WACSSO is governed by a volunteer State Council made up of 20 elected Councillors and a President. The State Council currently employs 5 staff members, who are currently managed by a subcommittee of State Council which includes the President and 2 Councillors.

The organisation’s profile and workload has increased substantially in recent times and the State Council has made a strategic decision to establish a new role of an Executive Officer. The primary responsibilities of the role are to manage the delivery of services to member P&Cs, work with the President and Councillors with policy determination, advocacy and representation as well as providing governance advice and support to the State Council.

Previous experience in a similar role with a representative Association or peak body, with proven strategic policy and advocacy skills and comprehensive operational general management are essential for a rapid transition into this new role. The position is offered under performance-based contract and a remuneration package of up to $140,000 will be negotiated with the preferred candidate.
