About our region

West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC) covers an area of almost 50,000 km2 of stunning natural landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.

More than two thirds of the region’s population of just over 6,000 identify as Aboriginal Australians, who reside in a collection of towns, communities and outstations. Council provides a range of local government services to five towns and communities across five wards with many popular tourist destinations.

The Role

The Manager Community Services Support leads the Community Services Support Team to provide professional guidance, support and education that aids the planning and delivery of high-quality community services. These services include Aged and Disability care, Childcare and Crèches, Night Patrol, Safe House, Sport and Recreation, Library and public swimming pool programs.

About you

• Tertiary qualification in public health, community development or a related field and significant relevant experience in Community wellbeing and Community Care
• Demonstrated success leading and inspiring a diverse staff group 
• Strong financial management skills 
• Substantial knowledge and experience in policy and program development .
