This is an opportunity to join a network of highly skilled women who are passionate about the safety of women and children.
The Haven Shelter is one in a network of seven Women’s Community Shelters. We operate our services based on feminist principles and provide trauma informed, client centred, strengths and evidence-based practice. We work with women and children to develop resilience and build resources.
We are recruiting for Casual Case Workers to work in crisis accommodation services in our shelter in South Penrith (for single women and children).
Various shifts are available, salary dependent on experience but minimum SCHADS 4.1 with 25% loading if staff are employed on a casual basis.
The shelters are staffed 7 days a week (reporting to a Shelter Manager working office hours) therefore flexibility for early mornings, weekends and potential on call is essential. This post will commence as a Casual post with a view to moving to Permanent Part Time.
Women’s Community Shelters are dedicated to supporting and empowering women to take control and move on with their lives. Our clients are supported with client-centric case management and are encouraged to pursue opportunities to study and find financial security.
An understanding of the homelessness sector, awareness around current issues and practice in domestic violence and good knowledge of housing pathways are key skills for this role.
