Weave Youth & Community Services works on the land of the Gadigal and Bidjigal people. We provide a range of services to socially and economically excluded young people, women and families who live in the City of Sydney Local Government Area as well as the Maroubra/La Perouse, Inner West and Woolloomooloo.

Weave has 4 sites across Woolloomooloo, Waterloo and Malabar. The Weave head office (and where this position is mainly located) is in Waterloo.

Summary of Position:

The Accounts Officer is responsible for managing all accounts payable and receivable functions for the organisation. The role includes a broad range of responsibilities which includes record keeping, processing weekly EFT payments, providing remittance advices and bank and credit card/expenses reconciliations.

This role would suit an individual, with a strong commitment to compliance, attention to detail and efficiency. This role needs someone who is comfortable supporting staff to ensure that they understand and comply with financial accountability processes whilst allowing them to carry out their day to day client and community based work.

The position is responsible to the Finance Manager and works with senior management, staff, auditors as well as suppliers and volunteers. They will be welcomed into our dynamic and supportive team environment.

Classification for this position is SCHCADS Award Level 3 Paypoint 1-4 depending on qualifications and experience. Hourly rate range: $35.34 - $37.89 per hour plus salary packaging benefits.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a non-profit or small to medium business environment with a minimum of 2 years experience in accounts is essential
  2. Qualifications or near qualification in accounting, bookkeeping and finance.
  3. Strong accounts keeping skills with the ability to accurately complete several tasks simultaneously.
  4. High-level computer expertise; especially in the use of Xero, Google applications and the Microsoft Office software suite, in particular Excel and using Excel to provide financial reports.
  5. Capacity to deliver results on time whilst maintaining drive and motivation in a high volume environment.
  6. Experience working in a community, human services, not-for- profit, healthcare or youth focused organisation would be advantageous but not essential.
